Q: Does CYB have a concussion action plan?
A: CYB uses the HEADS UP concussion action plan designed by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). A copy of our action plan is available here.
Q: How will COVID-19 affect the Spring 2021 baseball and softball seasons.
A: CYB is committed to the health and safety of the participants and their families. We will comply with all guidance provided by medical professionals. We do not yet have a comprehensive list of what this guidance will include but will communicate this to you as the season approaches. In 2020, the start of the season was delayed but we were able to play a full season. We believe that we will be able to start on time this year.

Q: When will I be contacted by my child's coach?
A: Teams will be drafted in early April. Coaches should begin
contacting players in Mid-April and you should have been contacted by
the last week of April.
Q: When does the season begin?
A: Opening day is scheduled for May May 15, 2021.
Q: When does the season end?
A: The regular season will scheduled to be completed by July 2, 2021.
The schedule is designed to accommodate the rescheduling of
some
games due to weather however a large number of rescheduled games may
affect this schedule.
Q: When do playoffs begin?
A: Playoffs for the 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 divisions begin immediately
following the completion of the regular season.
Q: How are playoff teams determined?
A: All teams advance to the playoffs and participate in a single
elimination playoff.
Q: When are games scheduled?
A: Most games are scheduled Monday through Friday. Some
games,
especially games those that had to be rescheduled due to weather, may be scheduled
on Saturdays. Games are not scheduled on Sundays unless there
is
no other alternative.

A: On weekdays games begin at 6:00PM. On Saturday, games may
be
scheduled as early as 10AM and as late as 6:00PM. Your child
should arrive at the diamond no later than 15 minutes before the
scheduled start time.

A: Typically teams will play two games per week. Due to
diamond
availability and/or weather it is possible that your team may
occasionally be scheduled one to three games in a week.
Q: How many games are there in the season?
A: Typically there are 10 - 12 games per season for all divisions. All teams in the 7-8, 9-10, & 11-12 baseball divisions will participate in a single elimination
playoffs following the regular season.
Q: Where are the games played?
A: Baseball games are primarily played at Xylem
Park
located at 121 Starlite Ave. or Community
Drive
Park located at 7 Community Dr.
Q: Will we be playing a Saturday night game under the lights?
A: We plan to have every team in the 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 divisions
play at least one game under the lights at Losson Park. These
games will typically start at 7:30 PM.
Q: When do practices begin?
A: Practices typically begin in mid to late April depending on the weather.
Q: When, Where, how often and how long are practices?
A: This is not easily answered by the league as practice schedules are
determined by your child's coach. Many coaches schedule two
practices per week until the season begins and one practice per week
during the season. Depending on the coach and the age of the
players practices may be from 1 to 2 hours.
13-15, 16-19, 14U, 16U, 20U Divisions

A: Home games are primarily played on the 90 foot baseball diamonds at Losson Park & Cheektowaga Town Park. These divisions will play against other leagues primarily from within Erie County. Away games will be played at the fields of the home team.
Q: Will we be playing a Saturday night game under the lights?
A: We plan to have every team play at least one game under the lights
at Losson Park, these games are typically played on Friday or Saturday nights but depending on availability may be played during the week. These games will start later than a normal
evening game.
Q: When do practices begin?
A: Practices will typically begin in late April or early May.
Q: When, Where, how often and how long are practices?
A: This is not easily answered by the league as practice schedules are determined by your child's coach. The coaches are aware of the High School sports season and work around it as much as possible. Practices will typically be around 2 hours long.
